COMMISSIONER TO HOST PUBLIC MEETING IN GUNNISON

GUNNISON, Colo– Commissioner Mark Smith will host a public meeting in Gunnison at 6:30 p.m.,  Dec. 14 at the Gunnison Division of office, 300 Ave.

The purpose of the meeting is to give the public an opportunity to meet commissioner Mark Smith and to allow the commissioner to hear concerns and suggestions, as well as answer questions about ’s management.

"This is a great opportunity to discuss management issues in the Gunnison area," said Commissioner Smith. 

The Commission is an eleven-member board appointed by the governor. The Commission sets Division of regulations and policies for , , watchable , and nongame, threatened, and endangered species. It is also responsible for making decisions about buying or leasing property for habitat and public access. The Commission also approves the ’s annual budget proposals and long-range plans.
