COMMISSION TO HEAR HABITAT MANAGEMENT PLAN REVIEW AT OCTOBER WORKSHOP IN GLENWOOD SPRINGS
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — The Colorado Wildlife Commission will hear updates from the Division of Wildlife staff on the Habitat Management Plan at its Oct. 8 workshop in Glenwood Springs. The Workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Ramada Inn and Suites, 124 West 6th Street in Glenwood Springs.
The Habitat Management Plan review will include information on the Republican Rivers, White River and Northwest Colorado Habitat Partnership Committees.
Also on the agenda is a staff update on the Andrick Property acquisition. This 710-acre state wildlife area was purchased by the Division of Wildlife using Habitat Stamp and Great Outdoor Colorado funds. The former hunting club property in Morgan County is part of the Division of Wildlife’s effort to address sportsmen’s requests for more hunting and fishing access throughout the state. The property was opened to public waterfowl hunting on Oct. 3.
The Commission will also be presented with the draft Data Analysis Unit Management Plans for the Red Feather-Poudre Canyon elk herd (GMUs 7, 8, 9, 19 and 191) and the Bijou Creek deer herd (GMUs 104, 105 and 106).
